Kevin McHargue

April 1, 2025/in Professionals/by Kevin McHargue

Why I do this work? Having worked with families in transition for more than a decade, I have seen the financial and emotional burdens of prolonged conflict. Approaches such as mediation and collaborative divorce provide an opportunity to lighten those burdens for everyone.

My practice: I work with a wide range of clients as a mediator, collaborative attorney and parent coordinator. In each of these roles, my goal is to help people find sustainable solutions without going to court.

Background: I have been an attorney for more than 30 years. In 2015, I trained as a mediator and found an entirely new way of approaching conflict. After that, I spent six years as Executive Director of a nonprofit law firm before establishing a private mediation and collaborative law practice. I am also a pro tempore judge in Multnomah County, presiding over judicial settlement conferences.

After Hours: My husband and I relocated to Oregon in 2009 and are still in love with the community, the natural beauty, and the people. We have a son, who is currently a film major at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
